Patricia Campbell's article entitled 'Collateral damage? Transforming subprime slum dwellers into homeowners' has been published in Housing Studies.
Patricia was supported by the HSA/HSCT bursary scheme and received editorial comments from members of the HSA Executive Committee. The article is published in volume 28(3), pages 453 - 472.

2013 HSA/HSCT bursary award winners announced

The Housing Studies Association and the Housing Studies Charitable Trust are delighted to announce the recipients of their joint 2013 bursary awards. The bursaries were established to ensure that members of the housing studies community facing financial barriers were still able to attend and present their work at the Housing Studies Association annual conference. 

The six recipients of 2013 bursaries are Nicholas Choy (Kings College London), Abigail Gilbert (University of Manchester), Joanne Jones (University of York), Dianne Theakstone (University of Stirling), Matthew Thompson (University of Manchester) and Min Wang (University of Glasgow / RENMIN University of China, Bejing).

HSA bursary recipients' papers published in Housing Studies

The HSA is delighted to announce that two recipients of its conference bursary scheme have recently had their papers published in the Housing Studies journal.

Martin Whiteford's paper, entitled 'New Labour, Street Homelessness and Social Exclusion: A Defaulted Promissory Note' has been published in issue 28(1):http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/02673037.2013.729264

The HSA bursary scheme provides financial assistance for housing scholars and practitioners to attend our annual conference. Recipients are encouraged to develop a paper for subsequent submission to a journal, with support from HSA Executive members. The bursaries are generously supported by the Housing Studies Charitable Trust.

The six recipients of the 2012 bursaries are: Michael Adedotun (Agri-Link Cooperative Society, Nigeria); Joe Crawford; Rachel Danemann (University of Stirling/ South Hams District Council); John Erskine; Zhan McIntyre (South Ayrshire Council) and Zhihua Zhou (University of Singapore.

Supported places at the 2012 HSA Conference

We are delighted to announce that, with the continuing generous support of the Housing Studies Charitable Trust, we are again able to offer a number of supported places at the 2012 HSA conference. These are:
· Two Housing Studies Charitable Trust Bursaries
· Four Housing Studies Association Bursaries
Each of the bursaries will cover the full cost of conference fees and up to £50 travel costs to attend the conference. Candidates who are initially not successful in gaining a bursary may also be placed on a reserve list for any unused places.
